The Centenary Badge

This is an exclusive Scout uniform badge that we have permission for 1st Mosman 1908 Scout Group members to wear. It will be presented to all current members in attendance at the Centenary Information Evening.

The badge will be worn in the point of the Group's black scarf (see below).

The Centenary Badge captures the spirit of Scouting at 1st Mosman 1908:

* The badge is set against the black background of the 1st Mosman 1908 group scarf. Black was chosen simply because the war years limited fabric available to the group when it was first established. The Scarf is integral to our heritage and respects those years and reflecting the continuous active history of the group.
* The Barn building is one of the oldest surviving maritime buildings, and was originally part of Archibold Mosman's whaling station. The Barn was restored by the Group and the community in 2005. It has been the home of 1st Mosman 1908 since 1928.
* The whale has been associated with the Mosman area since it was first settled. It is symbolic of our community and our heritage, and celebrates our fabulous natural environment, surrounded by Sydney Harbour.
