Production Dates^ topFriday 22nd August 2008, 6.30pm at The Barn, Mosman Saturday 23rd August 2008, 6.30pm at The Barn, Mosman About the PlayIn 1948, Eleanor Witcomb wrote a play for the Mosman Children's Theatre. It was a pantomime style script about pirates and whalers set in the old whaling station in Mosman Bay. Titled "Pirates at the Barn", it has been reproduced many times since the 1st Mosman Cubs were involved in the very first performance at Mosman Town Hall. Now the play is in it's 60th year, the 1st Mosman 1908 Scout Group are looking to create the magic again with our own version of the play - appearing for the first time in the very building it is set. Over the last weekend of August, the youth members of the Group will take on the roles for the pleasure of family, friends and invited guests as part of our centenary celebrations. Script Synopsis^ topThe play is set in two acts focusing on the deeds of two children who live in Archibold Mosman's 1840's whaling station. The children attempt to aid an investigation into piracy on the high seas and are soon in plenty of trouble, as much from their harsh aunt as from a band of nasty pirates! The play is suitable for children of all ages. |
