Promoting Participation in Scouting

The four local Scout Groups in Mosman have been awarded Australian Government funding to promote healthy and active Scouting activities locally. This grant is intended to encourage young people and their families to be active, and to get out and enjoy the great outdoors through the activities that Scouting offers.

1st Mosman 1908 Scouts, 1st Balmoral Sea Scouts, 1st Clifton Gardens Sea Scouts and 3rd Mosman Bay Sea Scouts are collaborating on this project. Expect to see advertising in the Mosman Daily, communication through our local schools and increased signage at our Scout Halls and on our outdoor equipment.

A part-time Coordinator has been employed to oversee this project, and will also develop Scout Harbourside Hikeathon into a bigger, better event with resource kits that allow the event to be readily staged in by volunteers in future years. The grant is overseen by a Local Reference Group, lead by the Group Leaders and Chairpersons and including representatives from each of the Scout Groups.
