1st Mosman Ski Trip
August 2011
A great weekend was spent by 1st Mosman cubs and scouts and their families in Thredbo on the weekend of August 6/7.
Although Saturday was a bit rainy we all enjoyed our time on the snow. Sunday was clear with great snow and allowed everyone plenty of time to perfect their skiing techniques.
There were 9 new joey /cub / scout aged skiers on the slopes and 11 cubs and scouts who improved their performance.
No one lost or broken and everyone smiles! The PLs and APLs were very helpful and demonstrated a high level of maturity helping arrange the younger kids (and sometimes the parents).
A tired but happy team returned safely on Sunday night. |

James Craig
May 2011
1st Mosman 1908 Cubs were invited to join our buddies at 1st North Sydney in a weekend of sailing ship adventure. We met at Greenwich on the Saturday and all achieved our Level 1 sailing badges, then moved into Darling Harbour, where we got a chance to stay on a larger boat.
While we did not take it sailing, we spent the night sleeping in hammocks on the James Craig, an 1874 wooden hulled barque. The dinner of ‘rat stew’ was very good and the Sunday morning activities of putting the sails up and scrubbing the deck kept us busy until we disembarked and visited some of the boats at the Maritime museum. |

Cuboree
January 2011
Every three years, more than 3,000 Cub, leaders and adults spend four nights camping in tents and having a great time. This year, 1st Mosman 1908 joined Cubs from 1st North Sydney, 1st Willoughby, 1st Clifton gardens and 3rd Mosman Bay to create a pack of 30, who were led by our own Dingo and Hathi, with Wendy Drapac coming along for the fun. We were also joined by seven leaders from the other packs. Despite average weather, we had amazing fun on the obstacle course (Challenge Valley), banged out heads while going caving and shrieked as we went down the water slide. Keep January 2014 free for the next one.
