Isn't Scouting just for boys? Not since 1986. Scouting has been open to girls in all Sections for 20 years. Guiding is still strong in Mosman, offering a different program on the same principals exclusively to girls, but Scouting is open to everyone. What is the difference between Sea Scouts and other Scouts? Sea Scouts wear the same uniform and follow the same basic program as Land Scouts. However, they traditionally offer more opportunities in water activities and often own a boat shed and a fleet of water craft. In Mosman, 1st Balmoral, 1st Clifton Gardens and 3rd Mosman Bay all own a boat shed and are Sea Scouts. 1st Mosman 1908 is the only Land Scout Group, but they also own water craft and offer many opportunities to try water activities, particularly canoeing.
